Witness Marks

GRINDING, PARTING LINES AND GATE AND RISER WITNESSES

Gates, risers, flash, fins and shifts will be removed and adjoining surfaces blended to within the limits specified below. Additional grinding will be performed only when specified. In the absence of specific requirements it will be considered normal to blend excess material into the castings contour within these limits.

Minimizing the requirements for grinding will result in a more economical part. In general, less trimming will be performed on those surfaces that subsequently will be machined.

10 - 25 lbs.	3/64 in.
25 - 50 lbs.	1/16 in.
50 - 100 lbs	1/8 in.
